What is BioClear?

BioClear was developed in 2007 as an alternative way to address issues that typically call for bonding, veneers, or crowns. Today, more dentists are offering it at their practices due to the many benefits it has to offer.

The treatment involves wrapping the tooth in question with a heated composite resin, which is the same kind of material that is used for dental fillings. The resin is held in place with special matrices (molds) so that it fits perfectly around each tooth, covering up any problem areas.

We can use BioClear to correct a wide range of dental imperfections such as chipped teeth, discoloration, small gaps, and black triangles near where the teeth meet the gums.

The BioClear Process

Step one is to clean the tooth thoroughly. Any plaque or other harmful substances on the enamel need to be removed before the resin can be applied. Then, the matrix is wrapped around the tooth, and the heated composite resin is injected. Said resin will be custom-shaded so that it matches the rest of your smile. Once the resin is in place, we’ll harden it in seconds with a special curing light. Then we’ll make any necessary last-minute adjustments to the material before polishing the tooth.

The Benefits of Getting BioClear

There are many reasons why BioClear has become a popular cosmetic option in recent years:

  • It can be done in just one visit, as opposed to crowns and veneers, which typically require at least two appointments.
  • The results look natural. The casual observer won’t be able to tell the difference between the treated tooth and the rest of your smile.
  • Unlike with crowns and veneers, we will not need to remove any enamel to prepare your tooth for the treatment.
  • The results can last for over a decade provided that you take good care of your teeth.
  • The material used for BioClear is stain-resistant and won’t discolor easily.
  • The BioClear process is reversible, so you can have it undone at some point in the future if necessary.
